CHOOSE CLOTHES
First things first. Pull outfits based on the shoot that you booked. If your shoot allows two to three outfit changes, consider pulling four to six outfits. This will give you enough options to choose from once you arrive at your shoot. Also, it's important when choosing clothes to stay away from prints and patterns. The focus should be on you and not distracting clothing.
WHITEN TEETH
This next step is so important in boosting your self confidence and ensuring that you are camera ready. Clean white teeth will always enhance a photo. You can visit your dentist for a teeth whitening service or you could opt for a less expensive option and just use Crest White Strips. This is a quick and easy option that you can do three to seven days before your shoot.
HAIR AND MAKEUP
When it comes to hair and makeup, less is best. We suggest that you wear your hair as you normally would and make sure that it is manageable. Makeup and lashes should be kept as natural as possible. Wearing too long or too big of a lash can be very distracting. In some cases, a great mascara application is more than enough. If you are not certain about how to prepare your makeup for your shoot, feel free to book your makeup application with us using one of our approved makeup professionals.
WAX/SHAVE
Getting rid of unwanted facial hair is time consuming in post production. Taking care of it beforehand is definitely the way to go. We suggest getting your facial hair waxed at least two days before your shoot. Allow a day or so just in case your skin is a little sensitive from the wax. On the day of the shoot, any touch ups can be done by shaving or plucking.
FACIALS
Whether done at home or done by a professional, facials will prep the skin to have a glowing appearance on the day of your shoot. if you are doing your facials yourself, be sure to include an exfoliant (scrub)and a moisturizing mask. Shedding skin of dead cells and applying moisture will guarantee a nice healthy glow to the skin. When treating the skin, don't forget about your lips. Use a scrub or an old toothbrush to shed dry skin from the lips.
MANICURE/PEDICURE
This is another area where 'less is best'. Neat, clean, and well groomed nails are necessary for photos. Hands are often posed in photos and should look their best. If you are wearing a polish color on the nails, natural tones are most appealing. You can get away with wearing any color on your toes. If you are not wear nail polish, just simply file your nails and apply an oil to your cuticles.
DRINK WATER
Drink plenty of water leading up to your shoot. This will keep your skin and body hydrated.
REST
Not much needs to be said here. Be sure to get a good night's sleep (at least 8 hours).
Keep in mind that these are all suggestions that are highly recommended, but do not feel obligated to do all of these. Choose whatever makes you comfortable.
